“Di che nome è il Tuo Angelo?” Post sugli Angeli. Quattro

Fin da piccoli, la nostra Tradizione, quella Cattolica, ci ha parlato degli Angeli custodi. Erano vicini al nostro comodino, ve lo ricordate? Recitavamo ogni sera una preghiera ben precisa: “Angelo di Dio che sei il mio custode…”. E se non si recitava mancava qualcosa al nostro sonno.

Ma avevo sempre avuto una domanda: il mio Angelo, proprio il mio, ha un nome?

La nostra Tradizione non ne parla. Ma ne parla l’ebraismo. E allora, andiamo a prendere a prestito quella parte che ci permetterà di conoscere il nome del nostro Angelo.

Tutto inizia da tre versetti dell’Esodo, Antico Testamento. Si tratta dei versetti 19, 20 e 21 del Capitolo 14.

[19]L’angelo di Dio, che precedeva l’accampamento d’Israele, cambiò posto e passò indietro. Anche la colonna di nube si mosse e dal davanti passò indietro.

[20]Venne così a trovarsi tra l’accampamento degli Egiziani e quello d’Israele. Ora la nube era tenebrosa per gli uni, mentre per gli altri illuminava la notte; così gli uni non poterono avvicinarsi agli altri durante tutta la notte.

[21]Allora Mosè stese la mano sul mare. E il Signore durante tutta la notte, risospinse il mare con un forte vento d’oriente, rendendolo asciutto; le acque si divisero.

In effetti, si nota uno “strano” movimento dell’Angelo e della nube: dal davanti passano indietro. Tutti i termini qui hanno un significato profondo. Ma quel movimento vuol dire molto.

In ebraico quei versetti hanno stranamente tutti e tre 72 lettere.

Oltre ad essere un numero pino di significati per gli Ebrei, settandadue per la Qabbalah sono anche le Potenze angeliche: ognuna “regge” 5 gradi dell’orizzonte (più o meno 5 giorni all’anno), e “custodisce” i passi di chi è nato in quei giorni, dandogli/le delle vere e proprie missioni di vita. Ne parleremo.

I nomi delle Potenze angeliche sono proprio tratti da quei tre versetti di 72 lettere in ebraico: se infatti si congiunge la prima lettera del primo versetto, con l’ultima del secondo e con la prima del terzo, si ottiene il nome della prima potenza angelica: Whw o Wehewuyah. Se si congiunge la seconda del primo versetto con la penultima del secondo e la seconda del terzo, ecco la seconda Potenza Angelica: Yly o Yeliy’el. E così via fino alla settantaduesima. Muwmiyah.

In base alla propria data di nascita si può conoscere il nome del proprio Angelo custode. Per ora non soffermiamoci sul resto, a dire il vero riportato nel link in un modo che assomiglia troppo all’oroscopo….

Ci sarà modo in seguito di capire cosa l’Angelo Custode, che ora ha un nome, ci porta in dote.

E sarà sorprendente.

Since they were young, our Tradition, the Catholic Church, told us about the Guardian Angels. They were close to our nightstand, you remember? Every evening we recited a very known pray: “Angel of God that are my guardian … “. Without that, something would been missing in our sleep.

Anyway, I had a question: my Guardian Angel has a name?

Our Tradition does not mention it. The judaism does. And then, we are going to borrow the part of the Judaism Tradition that will allow us to know the name of our Angel.

Everything starts from three verses of Exodus, Old Testament. These are the verses 19, 20 and 21 of Chapter 14.

19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,

20 coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,

In fact, there is a “strange” movement of the Angel and the cloud: from the front pass back. All of the terms here have a deep meaning. But that movement is really important.

In Hebrew all those verses “strangely” have 72 letters.

Seventytwo is a number with deep meanings for the Jews, and 72 are also the Angelic Powers for the Qabbalah: each “holds” 5 degrees of the horizon (more or less 5 days per year), and “guards” the steps of those who are born in those days, giving him/her precise missions in his/her life. We will talk about it in a a future post.

The names of Angelic Powers are drawn from those three verses of 72 letters in Hebrew: if in fact we join the first letter of the first verse, with the last of the second and the first of the third, we get the name of the first Angelic Power: Whw or Wehewuyah. If we join the second of the first verse with the penultimate of the second and the second in the third, here’s the second: Yly  or Yeliy’el. And so on until the LXXII Angelic Power: Muwmiyah.
